Rector St. Between Broadway and Trinity Place
5:30PM, Dec. 12, 2001

Rector Street has been completely torn up for repairs for its short four-block length. In the background is the churchyard of Trinity Church, the oldest church in Manhattan and a historical landmark in the Wall Street area. The pyramid-topped memorial marks the grave of American statesman Alexander Hamilton (1755-1804). The large headstone at top left is that of inventor Robert Fulton (1765-1815).
